Eve Callista is a supporting character in Your Throne. She was the former Countess of House Callista, the original wife of Mone Callista and the late biological mother of Psyche Callista.
Following Eve's passing, her identical older twin sister took on her role as the next Countess of House Callista.
Appearance[]
Eve has gray ash-brown hair (she used to have shoulder-length hair that is noticeably curled at the tips before it becomes straight as seen on a portrait in Episode 196 and flashbacks in Episode 197, Episode 198, Episode 199 and Episode 200) that has bangs parted to her left (or the viewer's right), distinguishing her from her older twin sister and bright green eyes set in a slim, pale face.
In the past, she sported several self-inflicted bruises on her body.[1][2]
Personality[]
Eve is extremely overbearing and protective of her daughter Psyche Callista. Since Psyche is the one chosen by the Guardian Deity of Vasilios, Eve wishes to keep her daughter from any harm that she maintains strong faith towards the Temple of Vasilios and worked hard to ingrain the same belief onto her daughter.
Background[]
Eve was born as a nameless commoner in the slums along with her older twin sister and the Temple of Vasilios took the twins in due to their gray hair and promised to take care of them on the if they performed well on a certain test.[3] The test was a part of the Pope of Vasilios' experiment to find people who could switch bodies. The future Countess and her sister were the only successful attempts, so the Pope graciously accepted them and told the twins that they were blessed by God. Because of this, Eve felt that her life had purpose, leading to her forming an unwavering devotion to the Temple.[4]
However, the twins' body swapping was not perfect, as it would leave Eve unconscious for days. The Pope decided to breed the perfect child by setting up one of the twins with his knight Mone Callista as the Callista lineage possessed divinity in the past. When the sisters met Mone, they had switched bodies.[note 1] Both fell in love with Mone at first sight with Eve wearing a smile while her sister frowned. Mone chose Eve to be his wife because her smile indicated that she would be more docile. On their first night together, Mone gave Eve her name.[3]
Although Mone didn't care for Eve at first, he slowly fell for her as he put up the front of a loving husband to the public and she soon gave birth to a baby girl named Psyche Callista, much to her joy. As the Pope planned, the child was blessed with divinity and Eve can only freeze in horror when a Temple knight takes the newborn as the Pope intended for her to be raised in the Temple. Mone promised Eve that he would get the child back, rebelling against the Pope for the first time and the Pope allowed the Callistas to keep Psyche as long as she stayed confined in the basement with Eve accompanying her. While Mone grew more wary of the Pope, Eve was happy to comply with the Pope's orders.[5]
Eve lived with Psyche in the basement for ten years and whenever Psyche begged to venture outside, Eve would harshly scold her daughter for having such thoughts. She utilized fairytales to teach Psyche that doubting the Guardian Deity's results in horrible consequences.[1] On the day Psyche ventured out of the basement on her own for the first time at the age of ten, Eve died under currently unknown circumstances [6] and Psyche kept these memories suppressed and lived for years, unaware that the current Countess is Eve's older twin sister.

Family[]
Countess Callista[]
Countess Callista is Eve's older twin sister.

Due to being confined for 15 years, Psyche was never allowed to see anyone aside from her mother who would frequently read Psyche stories about fairytales and princesses.

Eve often warns Psyche to not think about ever going outside, because of the dangers it holds. She taught Psyche to never doubt god's love.[1]

Notes[]
- ↑ In Episode 200, Eve almost refers to her sister as "my big sister", before correcting herself and saying "little sister." In the Korean version of Episode 201, Eve states that the body she currently inhabits belonged to her older sister. This suggests that Eve is the younger sister and had been inhabiting her older sister's body during her marriage with Mone.
